Sessional Youth Workers (Edinburgh/Glasgow)

This is an exciting time to join Venture Trust as we continue to develop, embed and grow our teams and apply our developmental approach in communities, in greenspaces and across Scotland’s wilder places.

Venture Trust works with people experiencing complex life circumstances. Through our work, we provide the opportunity for people to recognise their confidence, motivation and core life skills that they need to make positive changes in their lives.

About this role

We have an exciting opportunity for new Sessional Youth Workers to join our teams in Edinburgh and Glasgow, working with young people in local greenspaces, delivering a 4-week programme with a strong focus on wellbeing and employability skills development. As a Sessional Youth Worker, you will:

  • Build meaningful relationships and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to connect with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Understand complex needs and have experience supporting individuals with lived experience of trauma, the justice system, mental health conditions, addictions, and neurodiversity.
  • Develop strong relationships with community-based partners and stakeholders to support effective project delivery.
  • Provide high-quality, engaging, and tailored employability content to Venture Trust participants.
  • Design and deliver engaging environmental activities—both group-based and one-on-one—tailored to individual participant needs.
  • Support the development of referral networks to ensure efficient and effective recruitment for our programmes.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with delivery and referral agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Offer ongoing pastoral support to help remove barriers to employment and create pathways to employability opportunities.
  • Plan and lead employability programmes and progression opportunities for participants.
