It was totally worth it

Hey were Cheryl 18 and Stephanie 19 from Glasgow. We came on this course on the 13th July 2010, just to get away from home as we are young carers. It was really quite scary on the way coming here (especially the 3 hour train journey) not very nice hehe but it was totally worth it in the end. We came here not knowing anyone but left with a lot of friendships that will carry on. Thats just one of the good things about this course!

The 10 days can seem really hard but you will get loads of support to get thought it.

if you are not used of staying away from home dont panic this is just like a second home everyone makes you feel so welcome. There have been times when we both wanted to go home but having made it to the end, we are so happy that we stayed. There are lots of fun things to do like coasteering, gorge walking and an expedition which lasts around 4 days (it might sound quite long but it flies in and it is by far the best part of the course.) The course isn’t easy but the good thing is that you only need to go as far as you want in the activities. During this course you will learn so many things eg, cooking with a trangia, camping out ( some of us had never done that) , mask making (so relaxing) and lots more. We would say its a must do in your life!! :D

So if you are given the chance to come DO IT, when your on the course GO FOR IT (try everthing you get the chance to do!) , most importantly be yourself on the course because you will gain so much from the course if you are true to yourself.
