our beliefs
- Anyone can change if they really want to.
- Change is a product of confidence, motivation and strategy.
- Change is up to the individual - nobody can be forced to change.
- Change begins here and now, not in the future.
- Change depends on thoughts, not feelings.
- The wilderness is a wonderful place to think about, and make, changes.
our foundations
Venture Trust is a registered charity (no. 285891) founded in 1982.
We hold the Investors in People Award, the Scottish Quality Management Systems Award and we are a registered outdoor provider with the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority.
Our residential centre, an 18th Century hunting lodge, is in the North West Highlands of Scotland, and we have offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
We are funded by the Scottish Government, The Big Lottery Fund and other charitable trusts. Detailed accounts and other administrative information is available here.
our people
Your first point of contact with Venture Trust will be with our team of outreach workers: Gordon Thomson, Nick Roberts and Sean Humphreys. They will give you all the information you need, and help you with the application process.
Kath Fraser handles the general day-to-day administration of the organisation.
Our team of twenty development tutors, who work directly with participants on Venture Trust courses, come from a range of backgrounds - including education, social work, psychology and outdoor training - and hold a variety of outdoor and educational qualifications.
Then there's our fundraiser, Jo Easingwood, without who there would be no money for these programmes.
Behind these frontline workers is a small army of support. Collectively they make Venture Trust the life-changing organisation that it is.
