STEVEN RAMSAY EDINBURGH VT COURSE JULY - AUG 09

Note from editor- unfortunately the pics from this course could not be found…sorry :o(

Awright guys, on day 18 of my VT course and what an experience it has been.

Before coming on this course I thought there was no point. I didn’t see how doing this course would help me but I am glad I did come. There were so many things in my life that i wanted to change before VT but I never done them. Completing this course has made me look at my life back home and has made me think about what I really want in life. I am now going home with a full tool box of skills that I never had previously. I would come and do this course again any day. I have learnt alot about myself as well.

This course has made me realise that I am a very patient person who likes to work as part of a group. I know I have made changes to my personality which I will use back home. I have done things here very diffrently than I would do them back home. I have stuck to my goals, which if I set goals back home before, I would forget them as soon as I had made them. I came here for myself but also I came here for me and Jenn. The skills I have learnt here will strenghen my relationship back home and theres nothing more in the world I would want than to be happy with Jenn and my little princess Megan. Done it for you’s! <3

This course is hard but when you have compelted something you find hard you feel amazing. The hardest part of the course for me aside from missing my family was the walking, but when I had completed the walk I was proud of myself. I can honestly say that the walking has done me good! :-)

I am really proud of myself because I have gave and done my best and that’s all you can do. That’s all that is expected, just you do your best.

I’ve meet amazing people and enjoyed my time at VT. The staff are great, they give you help when needed and sometimes that makes the situation so much better if you have support.

It was complicated putting up the tipi but we managed.

I have found this course helps you in ways that you don’t understand before coming here. The activities that you do release alot of anger within you and you suddenly begin to start to be the person you really want to be. There were times on this course that I said that I wanted to go home but I stayed and glad I did. The people that were on my course all had something in common with me so we understood each other. The staff have had there share of rought times too, so that helps when you speak to them, they know what your talking about.

The pic above was when I was absailing down the biggest drop at Uags i’ve ever seen. Scared at first but when I got over the ledge and was coming down taking in the views, what an experience.

I would say to anyone who had the chance top come VT to grab it at the first chance. I’m glad I finally came because I am going home with so many things that I have learnt.

My tip for people coming to VT is, if you give it all you can you will recieve so much back from othere people on the course and the staff. :-)

Tonight has been very special because it was our final meal as a group. We had a delicious 3 course meal from darren,(a chef taught by Marco peire White, and trained with Gordon Ramsay) I was proud to stand up and accept my certificit from my one to one worker. The celebration tonight rounded off the perfect 20 days. Thanks guys for a good night!!! :P

I would just like to say to everyone on my course thanks for making this experience one that I will remember for the rest of my life. Big thanks to Andy C, you helped me alot m8 thanks it will be remembered.

Anyways thats what I thought of the course, hope yous feel the same when your at this point in your course!!!
