We came, we saw, we learnt!
Thursday, May 31st, 2007We start our course by gathering at Inverness train station, then on to have our first meeting sharing with each other the fact that we were all on the course to change. Once we had traveled the two hours drive to Applecross, we have a tour of the building. Then it’s time for us to show people the rooms they will be staying in, we make a record together of all the clothes and shoes etc. that they brought then we have some dinner.
Ok, lets play some games!! nothing too serious, just to break the ice and start learning each other’s names. From then on most days start the same after a clean-up of the centre or campsite - depending on where you wake up, straight into our morning meeting. This is where we check-in, find out exactly what is happening that day and raise any issues that we need to.
Right, now it might well be time to… climb a cliff, plan a menu, go canoeing, have a 1:1 session, pack a bag, get in behind a waterfall, walk over hills and sleep in a tipi or look into what jobs and training people might want to do after the course. No two days are the same, sometimes the weather means we change what we do but we always do something. So every day will need lots of effort from everybody and a positive attitude makes the whole thing a lot easier and more fun !
Then after three weeks of hard work, it’s time to celebrate with a final meal, a good action plan to take home and the chance to jump of a pier into the sea, sound alright?!!. If you think you want to get involved and are ready for the challenge and commitment, please get in touch and find out more.
