A UK Trust which provides small capital grants for organisations like Venture Trust who support vulnerable young people in the UK have supported the replacement of one of the old ‘terrapin’ buildings at the Applecross centre.

We used the grant to purchase a genuine Portakabin from In-site Accommodation and materials from Woodstock in Inverness. The building arrived on the back of a lorry after having made the journey all the way from South Wales via the single-track roads of Applecross.

The new building replaces the general equipment store (seen in the images below) to provide secure storage for expensive equipment required for the delivery of water-based activities for several years to come. The old wet-kit store will become the new general store until another building can be purchased (hopefully before the gales blow it down)

The new building will get a coat of Dark Green paint and be fitted out to accommodate all the kit ready to service the courses that will run here in the future.
